Essential Question: What was it like to embark on the Titanic?

The goal is to give students a window into life during the time the HMS Titanic set sail and help them relate to those people while learning about the culture of the era. I believe that if a student can relate to the people of an era, the lesson will have a greater impact.

You can reread the poem here.

You now have had a more personal experience with the HMS Titanic. Talk with your neighbors, what surprised you the most about the HMS Titanic? Did they choose a different class (first or third) than you, and how was their experience different from yours?
Its April 10th, 1912 and you are on your way to America! You've packed your bags, and boarded the newly completed and unsinkable ship the HMS Titanic. It'll be up to you to decide if you travel as a Baron of industry in first class or as an immigrant in third class. You'll keep notes on your travels and experiences in a journal.
